Thank you Museum of Lifestyle and Fashion History

The Mango Inn is pleased and honored to have hosted visitors from the "Museum of Lifestyle and Fashion History" this morning. We enjoyed meeting many new friends and hopefully future guests, and they enjoyed a sampling of our signature Mango Stuffed French Toast while listening to an interesting history of our historic Inn and our wonderful Parrot Cove neighborhood. Lori, the very knowledgable tour guide knows more about the history of the Mango than anyone I have every met. For all the lovely ladies who asked, the simple recipe for our Mango Stuffed French Toast follows:

Any bread (we use Pepperidge Farm Cinnamon Bread)
Cream cheese (softened)
Stewed Mangos
Egg/Milk/Vanilla/ Cinnamon mixture for dipping bread
*****************************************
Make a cream cheese sandwich with two slices of bread, cut in half.
Dip into the egg mixture and place in hot fry pan with melted butter,
     cook until golden brown.
To stew the fruit we just peel slice and cook the mango in a saucepan, we don't find it to need any sweetening, but you could make this with any fruit and others such as blueberries may require some sugar   be added. Spoon over the top of the cooked French Toast and serve. Elegant but easy.
